EMG Italy is proud of its strong expertise in remote production, especially in sporting events but not limited to: it also claims numerous live streaming events for il Sole 24 Ore, the award ceremony Top Legal Industry Awards, and various virtual school open days for Istituto Marangoni of Milan, Florence, and London, and the very first entertainment show in which all participants were connected through live streaming: Trova l’Amore Live. Broadcasted on Real Time, it was a well-received experiment that brought entertainment and laughter into homes during the lockdown period.

“The decision of setting up all broadcasting productions based on remote production, often proves to be successful and more functional compared to the traditional use of OB Van” – says Anna Pasculli, Sport Production Coordinator of EMG Italy.

“There are many advantages that come with this decision: starting from the possibility of re-sizing the productive resources according to every filming and budgeting need. In addition, we can’t forget the versatility that comes with remote production and the low environmental impact, which makes it one of the most sustainable options”.

Overall, for the 2020-2021 season, counting between sport and entertainment, there have been more than 2.000 events created through remote production: here are some numbers.

LEGA PRO

Since 2014, EMG Italy has been involved in the Production of all Lega Pro matches created through remote production from 58 different stadiums throughout Italy.

This project will be continuing for the 2021-2022 season as well, and more than 1.200 matches in remote production are already planned – with the possibility of managing up to 2 games at the same time.

BASKETBALL

EMG Italy was the very first Italian company to produce an entire broadcasting basketball game in remote production: using a reduced production crew compared to usual production standards, working in complete safety but without sacrificing quality.

EMG Italy managed the entire production for all basketball matches of the Supercoppa for the 2020-2021 season using remote production. For the 2021-2022 season of the Championship, 100 events are planned to be executed in remote production.

Matches go live on the OTT platform Eurosport Player which allows on demand re-watch, thanks to paid subscriptions.

All of these decisions make for a simplified production and, for a 3 hours long live, it only takes 2 additional hours to set up all the equipment prior to the actual game.

MEN’S VOLLEYBALL SERIE A

For the 2021-2022 season of Superlega (A1), more than 130 remote production events are planned.

For the Volleyball Championship A2 are scheduled 173 events.

Usually, for a Serie A Men’s Volleyball match, the technical crew consists of 4 cameramen and one chief technician.
